The High School Proficiency Test(HSPT) is a standardized test used to measure a current 8th-grade student’s skills for placement into 9th grade at Catholic/parochial schools. The HSPT tests in the following areas: verbal skills, quantitative skills, reading comprehension, mathematics, and language. Additionally, as stated before, The HSPT is a standardized, timed test required of every 8th-grade student applying to attend a Catholic high school.
